BUFFALO, N.Y. – A 90-year-old pilot’s plan to fly across the U.S.-Canadian border 90 times has been postponed by wind.
John Lawton, of Ohio, had hoped to make the flight north of Buffalo on his 90th birthday Monday.
But he says there are high winds at the altitude so he’ll have to try on Tuesday.
Lawton plans to fly his Cessna 172 back and forth across the border over the Niagara River.
His daughter Brenda plans to be along for the ride.
The pilot estimates the feat will take from one to two hours.
He plans to speak with reporters at the Niagara Falls airport upon landing.
