John Krasinski returns to native Mass. to raise funds for cancer research

BOSTON – Actor John Krasinski is back in his home state of Massachusetts to help raise funds for cancer research and pay tribute to 100 people and organizations who have helped fight the disease.

Krasinski is hosting Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center’s annual fundraiser, set for Wednesday evening. Fellow Massachusetts native Matt Damon has hosted previous fundraisers.

Krasinski will be accompanied by his wife, actress Emily Blunt. Other celebrities expected to appear include Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith.

Krasinski played Jim in the popular NBC show “The Office.”
