VERNON, B.C. – Fans of the hit fast-car flick “Fast and Furious” were driven out of a Vernon, B.C., mall Tuesday night when a structural engineer ordered an evacuation.
It will be at least Wednesday night before the trailers roll for that film, or any of six others showing at the multiplex, as the entire theatre is checked for problems.
Staff at the Cineplex theatre reported early Tuesday that several bricks had fallen from a wall or ceiling in the multiplex.
The building was cleared when the structural engineer arrived to take a look at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A temporary support beam is now being installed and the Galaxy Cinemas are expected to reopen in time for the evening shows.
Permanent repairs should take several more days. (CKIZ)
