Actress Ellen Page gripes to fans that video game ‘ripped off’ her likeness
Canadian actress Ellen Page is no stranger to rave reviews for her performances.
But the Oscar nominee isn’t happy with the latest acclaim — because it’s not for her work.
Page says the newly launched video game “The Last of Us” has used her likeness, even though she’s starring in another, yet-to-be-released game.
The actress made the comments Sunday during a question-and-answer session with fans on the website Reddit.
One poster remarked that the protagonist in the zombie-themed game, named Ellie, looks and sounds like the petite brunette.
Page replied that she should probably be “flattered,” but doesn’t appreciate the look-alike given that she’s playing the role of Jodie Holmes in the upcoming game “Beyond: Two Souls” alongside actor Willem Dafoe.
Page has also been getting positive, although misdirected, feedback about the role on Twitter — praise she’s been redirecting to the actress who actually played Ellie, Ashley Johnson.
