TORONTO – Acclaimed actor Michael J. Fox and Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna are among this year’s Canadian Emmy Award nominees.
Edmonton-born Fox, already a multiple Emmy winner, is up for outstanding guest actor in a drama series for playing a shrewd lawyer on CBS’ legal series “The Good Wife.”
And Toronto’s Danna, who won an Oscar earlier this year for his work on “Life of Pi,” got a nod for his music composition on the ReelzChannel historical miniseries “World Without End.”
Meanwhile, Vancouver-raised Michelle MacLaren is a contender for best direction on the AMC drug drama “Breaking Bad.”
Trevor Morris, a composer who hails from London, Ont., is nominated outstanding music composition for Showtime’s “The Borgias” papal drama series.
And Thornhill, Ont.-born Keith Crofford is nominated for executive producing the satirical medical comedy “Childrens Hospital,” which is up for best short-format live-action program.
The Emmys, to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air Sept. 22 on CBS.
