VICTORIA – B.C.’s coroner has released a list of names of six of seven people killed since July 14 in what has been a deadly spate of accidents in the province.
Joshua Hoffart of Lake Country and Maria Karountzos of Creston, both 30 years old, were killed July 18 when the ATV they were riding crashed off Oyama Lake Road.
Days later, a 17-year-old driver, who hasn’t been named, was killed in a vehicle crash on the same road, while his 17-year-old female passenger was critically injured.
A man who died on the Similkameen River July 20 has been identified as 19-year-old Derek Woodrow of Keremeos.
Thirty-six-year-old Jeffrey Hainsworth from Nanaimo was killed on July 19 when the motorcycle he was riding lost control and hit a power pole near Ladysmith.
In separate water deaths, Clair Stacey Collicutt, 46 years old from Keremeos, died in Heart Lake near Hedley, while Kristoffe Gunnarson, aged 55, was found dead in Mill Creek.
