Former Scouts Canada volunteer charged with sex offences in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Police say a former Scouts Canada volunteer has been charged with more than a dozen sex offences.

Police say the charges are connected to incidents between 2012 and this year involving three boys under the age of 16.

They allege the incidents happened when the suspect was working with the Scouts in the Ottawa area.

Scott Stanley of Ottawa faces 18 charges, including six counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference, and three counts each of invitation to sexual touching and telecommunication for specific criminal offences.

Stanley, 30, was arrested Thursday and is scheduled to appear in court today.
