Canadian ice dancers Virtue and Moir start season with gold at Finlandia Trophy

ESPOO, Finland – Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir won gold in ice dancing on Saturday at the Finlandia Trophy.

Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., were first in both the short and long programs with a total score of 167.87 points.

Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates placed second with 143.06 points. Poland’s Justyna Plutowska and Peter Gerber were third (131.71).

It was the season debut for Virtue and Moir.
