A&W posts improved profit of $6.5M in Q3; same-store sales rise 0.08%

VANCOUVER – A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (TSX:AW.UN) has posted a year-over-year increase in third-quarter net profit amid higher royalty income as same-store sales continued to improve. The fast food chain says profit improved to almost $6.5 million in the 12 weeks ended Sept. 8, up from just under $4.2 million in the comparable year-earlier period. The number of stores in the royalty pool totalled 760 in the latest quarter, up from 737 a year earlier, while same-store sales improved 0.8 per cent.
