One dead as two vehicle crash closes Highway One for hours, east of Vancouver

LANGLEY, B.C. – One person has been killed in a two car crash on Highway One just east of Vancouver.

The collision closed the highway early Tuesday morning in Langley at 232nd Street, although a detour is in effect.

Two of the three eastbound lanes are not expected to reopen for several hours.

Sgt. Peter Thiessen confirmed the fatality in a tweet just after 7:30 a.m., but did not release any further details of the accident.

Heavy fog has made the morning commute treacherous in many parts of Metro Vancouver.
