The U.N. says the typhoon that ravaged the Philippines has killed 4,460 people. The world body says it received confirmation on the death toll from a government agency.
The U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs released the figures Thursday, citing the Philippines’ Department of Social Welfare and Development as the source.
The U.N. says some 920,000 people were displaced by the storm and a total of 11.8 million people have been affected.
