Langley, B.C., homeowner snares drum set in perplexing percussion probe

LANGLEY, B.C. – Langley RCMP are investigating a beating of a different kind — or rather, the lack of one — but they are taking steps to ensure the beating resumes.

Mounties say a set of drums has been found, and the search is on for the rightful owner.

A homeowner found the drum set under a tree near his property, about 50 kilometres east of Vancouver, on Monday.

He called police after determining no neighbours in the area were missing the set.

Cpl. Holly Marks says investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have lost some drums, or had them stolen.

It’s not known if a fed-up parent ditched the instruments in hopes of ending an offspring’s less-than-promising career as a drummer.
