American skier Lindsey Vonn skips final training run but intends to race Friday

LAKE LOUISE, Alta. – American Lindsey Vonn skipped the final training run for a women’s World Cup downhill ski event but intends to race Friday.

Vonn has won a record 14 World Cup races at Lake Louise but arrived with a troublesome right knee that she re-injured in training two weeks ago.

Vonn was 22nd in the first training run Wednesday.

The downhill Friday would be her first race of the season.
