KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Mounties in Kamloops, B.C., say a murder charge has been laid in connection to the death of 23-year-old Archie LePretre in March 2011.
Police say 24-year-old Travis Johnny was arrested on Friday and faces a murder charge.
RCMP say LePretre, who is from Vancouver, was visiting his cousin in Kamloops when they were targeted by a rival group.
The man was stabbed in the basketball court of local elementary school and died in hospital a short time later, in a murder that police said at the time had gang ties.
Two other men were also arrested but later released.
RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush says investigators will continue to look into the possible involvement of the other men and determine if there are more arrests to be made. (CFJC, CHNL)
