Apartment fire sends three to hospital, forces residents from home

BURNABY, B.C. – Several residents of a Vancouver-area apartment spent Christmas morning in the hospital after suffering fire injuries.

Fire officials say an early morning blaze broke out in a three-storey apartment in Burnaby’s Capitol Hill neighbourhood.

They say three people have been treated for smoke inhalation.

The rest of the building’s residents have been forced from their homes due to the fire damage.

The cause of the two-alarm fire is being investigated. (News1130, CKNW)
