Andy Warhol’s paintings, drawings, photos on display at Dali Museum in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A new exhibit at The Dali Museum showcases not the surrealist master, but another pop culture icon who played with fame and art.

“Warhol: Art. Fame. Mortality.” is the name of the new exhibit, which opens Saturday. More than 100 of Andy Warhol’s paintings, drawings and photographs are on display, along with a selection of his films.

The works are on loan from the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, where the artist was born and raised before moving to New York City.

Warhol’s red self-portrait, variations of his Campbell’s Soup silkscreens and a vibrant blue silkscreen of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis are among the works on display.

This is the first large-scale special exhibit at The Dali since opening its new building in 2011.
