TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired right-handed pitcher Denis Samudio and cash considerations from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for right-hander Connor Seabold, the Major League Baseball club announced Monday.
The 21-year-old has appeared in six games (three starts) between the Arizona Complex League Royals and Single-A Columbia, posting a 4.12 earned-run average and 22 strikeouts over 19.2 innings.
The right-hander from Panama was signed by the Royals as an international free agent in 2025.
Seabold, 30, was designated for assignment by Toronto last Wednesday after posting an 8.10 ERA over five relief appearances. The Blue Jays had acquired Seabold from the Detroit Tigers on May 27 in exchange for minor-league left-hander Juanmi Vasquez
The Laguna Hills, Calif., native has made 56 career MLB appearances, including 19 starts, with Boston, Colorado, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Toronto.
The Blue Jays (34-38) start a three-game series with the Red Sox on Tuesday in Boston.
