There isn’t much scientific research on the topic, but some yoga enthusiasts in Penticton have found it’s more relaxing with a baby goat on your back.
GottaGoat Farms has a unique offering, goat yoga, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. The farm is run by wife and husband Cindy and Jeff Campbell who have been offering goat yoga since 2017.
“Everybody puts down mats, and the goats all of a sudden will surround the people, wanting petting and just wanting to cuddle up with them,” Cindy said.
“They just enjoy themselves, and they feel people are a great place to climb. The goats just love people, and they’re so used to the attention that that’s all they really want.”

The goat yoga sessions usually run on Sundays and Wednesdays in the summer but more information is available online here.
Cindy said the farm gets so many visitors that the goats are quite friendly and love when people get down on their level during the yoga sessions.
“If they want to come over and snuggle with you or cuddle with you, if they’re a little bit bigger, they know that they shouldn’t jump on you, so they’re just going to lay down on your mat. They’re always up to such unique things during the class,” she said.
