Senators sign forward Xavier Bourgault to one-year, two-way contract

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Xavier Bourgault to a one-year, two-way contract, the NHL team announced Thursday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 23-year-old was the second-leading scorer for the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Belleville Senators, with 25 goals and 57 points this past season.

Bourgault, from Montmagny, Que., was called up twice by Ottawa.

He played his first career NHL game on Dec. 27, 2025, in Toronto.

Bourgault was a first-round pick (22nd overall) in the 2021 draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He was sent to Ottawa in the summer of 2024.
