iN VIDEO: Penticton Peachfest wraps up first night with performance from Bif Naked

The 79th annual Penticton Peach Festival wrapped up its first day of events on Wednesday, August 5. Many locals attending the festival were met with grey skies across the lake from the ongoing forest fire smoke, but the sidewalks and streets were still packed with people eager to head down to the festival grounds at Okanagan Lake Park and Rotary Park.

Shooting Star Amusements was set up in Rotary Park, and many people lined up for some of their favourite rides and sweet snacks like mini donuts and cotton candy. There was plenty of face-painting and games, with people trying to win prizes from some of the challenging games.

Each day at Okanagan Lake Park features a lineup of musical artists, entertainment, and competitions, with one headlining band to end the night. Wednesday night hosted Canadian alternative rock singer Bif Naked to rock the night away for the first night of the five-day festival.
