Crankworx World Tour brings downhill challenge to SilverStar

Crankworx is returning to SilverStar Resort this weekend, bringing four days of downhill mountain biking celebration and competitions. Spectating the event is completely free, and guests will have an opportunity to see the grand opening of some of the new parts of the SilverStar bike park.

The festival opens Thursday, August 6, with a sold-out screening of “Remy Morton X Trailshark – Walk the Line”. The competitions and main events begin on Friday, August 7, with a proper opening of the new Walk the Line trail, which features double black jumps and gaps with no ride-arounds. Events run through Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9.

Crankworx brings Pumptrack racing, qualifying events for the UCI Continental Series, the BC Cup, Canada Cup, and Round 1 of the inaugural Slopestyle Super League (SSL) Playoffs for men and women. Races and events will be viewable from the ground, but chairlift tickets will allow you to go higher up to see the starting lines of some of the races.

On top of the event, there will be plenty of food, an artisan market, and 2 free-to-attend after-parties on Friday at The Bulldog and Saturday at The Red Antler.

Originally started in Whistler, BC, back in 2004. Crankworx has expanded its international presence to host competitions all over the world, including the USA, France, New Zealand, Australia, and Austria.

SilverStar has over 400 dirt jumps and 870+ berms and has been a significant supporter of downhill mountain biking since 1994. With roughly 69 km+ of trails, there is a wide range of difficult trails available for riders to enjoy on the hill.
