Several small fires were sparked in a park in Kelowna’s Black Mountain neighbourhood on Wednesday that were extinguished by park-goers and nearby residents.
The fires were spotted at around 5:30 p.m., Aug. 5, in Gopher Creek Linear Park, according an RCMP media release.
After calling the fire department, the local residents put out the fires.
Kelowna RCMP are interesting in speaking to anyone who saw suspicious activity or anything out of the ordinary in the park or in the Gallagher Road and Lynrisk Road area that afternoon.
People who drove through that area between 3 and 6 p.m. are asked to check their dash cam footage for anything that could help RCMP with its investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2026-50091.
