Forbes’s extra-time goal salvages draw as Rapid tie AFC Toronto 2-2

OTTAWA — Nicola Golen scored two minutes into extra time to help the Ottawa Rapid salvage a 2-2 draw with AFC Toronto on Sunday.

Golen put away the equalizer in the 92nd minute as the league-leading Rapid added a point to their standing.

Melanie Forbes had Ottawa’s (10-2-3) other goal in the 13th minute.

Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky replied for third-place Toronto (7-4-4).

Both teams were reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute when the Rapid’s Choo Hyojoo and AFC Toronto’s Cloey Uddenberg were shown red cards.

Earlier in the day, Ottawa’s TD Place was announced as the host venue for the Nothern Super League final on Nov. 14.
