One man injured in targeted shooting outside home in Surrey, B.C., police say

SURREY — Police in Surrey, B.C., are investigating after one man was injured in what they describe as a targeted shooting.

Officers received reports of the shooting near 60 Avenue and 177 Street in the Cloverdale neighbourhood at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say they arrived at the home to find that shots were fired at two people, and one of them, a man, suffered minor injuries that did not require treatment.

The suspects fled the scene.

While investigators believe the attack was targeted, police say they don’t believe it is related to the recent wave of extortion violence against the South Asian community.

Investigators are urging witnesses or anyone with information, including security camera or dashcam footage nearby, to contact police.
