iN VIDEO: WinCon Kelowna welcomed by the tabletop community

The Coast Capri Hotel was off to a busy weekend on August 14, 15, and 16, with WinCon 2026, Kelowna’s newest tabletop convention celebrating board games, card games, and miniature games such as Warhammer 40k and Dungeons and Dragons. Pantheon Events managed to bring over 250+ people to the convention as it was the first of its kind in Kelowna. The company said they were impressed with the turnout, considering they only advertised for a little less than five weeks. After seeing the turnout, they will have a much better idea for next year’s planning.

WinCon hosted multiple board game and card game tournaments across the weekend, with a few local game developers showcasing their games. There were door prizes given away throughout each day, and many people were excited to try out the 200+ board game library that people were able to sign out and play with friends or new players.

A game marketplace was also in the corner, with people selling their lightly used games for a reduced price compared to what they go for new. Most of the people attending the event are generally pretty good about not losing pieces. If there was anything wrong with the game, people were honest and made notes on the boxes.

The community came out and showed there was a demand for an event like this. A great opportunity to make some new friends and try out some new and old games.
