The music starts, the rhythm picks up, and dancers take to the patio as the Latin Dance Social Patio Party brings an afternoon of movement, music and community connection to Kamloops.

Presented by Let’s Move Studio, the event takes place at Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual, 1200 Summit Dr, on August 23, 2026. The afternoon begins with a beginner-friendly dance lesson before opening the floor for several hours of social dancing.

From 1:30 to 2 pm, participants can join a beginner lesson and learn some basic steps before social dancing continues from 2 to 5 pm. The event includes styles such as salsa, bachata and merengue, giving both new and experienced dancers a chance to enjoy the music.

One of the biggest parts of the event is its welcoming atmosphere. No partner or previous dance experience is required, and instructors are available to offer guidance and encouragement throughout the afternoon.

For experienced dancers, it is a chance to spend an afternoon on the dance floor. For beginners, it offers an opportunity to try something new without needing to arrive with a partner or know all the steps.

The event is presented in partnership with Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual and the Valid Dreams Foundation, with a focus on inclusion, connection and bringing people together through dance.
