Three youths face charges after stranger bear sprayed in downtown Kelowna

Three youths were arrested after bear spraying a stranger in downtown Kelowna this past weekend.

Officers were were called to a report of a bear spray incident involving youths at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, in the 1500 block of Abbott Street.

The three suspects were arrested and investigators say an “unrelated adult” was spraying after a “verbal exchange”.

The young people were released into the care of their guardians and scheduled to appear in court at a later date. 

While they wait to go before a judge, they are subject to conditions.

RCMP don’t say what those conditions are or what charges the youth face.
