Risk to public unknown after stabbing in Kelowna: RCMP
Someone was stabbed in Kelowna’s Dilworth neighbourhood Thursday night and RCMP are on the hunt for the suspect.
Officers were called to the stabbing at around 10:15 p.m., Sept. 3, near the intersection of Dilworth Drive and Summit Drive, according to an RCMP media release.
The stabbing victim was seriously hurt but RCMP say their injures are non-life-threatening.
Despite a search with a police dog, the suspect got away on what RCMP think was a scooter, which has been recovered as evidence.
“Due to the victim’s condition at the time, investigators were initially unable to obtain detailed information regarding the circumstances of the incident,” the release reads.
“As a result, the risk to the public remains unknown.”
Officer have conducted a door-to-door canvass at nearby homes and businesses for video surveillance footage in an effort to identify the suspect.
Anyone with any information, including CCTV or dash camera video, is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
