TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is expected to play when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the season at Cincinnati on Sunday.
Egbuka had been slowed by a toe injury sustained in joint practice with the New York Jets last month.
“Emeka is full go,” coach Todd Bowles said Friday.
Wideout Jalen McMillan (knee) and running back Sean Tucker (hamstring) are doubtful.
The Bucs need Egbuka after losing Mike Evans to San Francisco in free agency. The 2025 first-round pick had 63 catches for 938 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie.
Tampa Bay has depth at running back. Tucker plays behind Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell.
