Death toll rises to 10 at Kelowna long-term care home

The COVID-19 death toll at a Kelowna long-term care home continues to rise.

Today, May 25, Interior Health reported that Spring Valley long-term care is now reporting two more deaths related to a COVID-19 outbreak, raising the total to 10. There are 48 cases, 36 of which are affecting residents, 12 are within the staff.

Spring Valley can house 150 residents and it is near capacity. Currently, it's the only outbreak in Interior Health.

Today, the province reported 289 new cases of COVID-19, with 3,782 being active cases.

Of the active cases, 301 individuals are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 93 of whom are in intensive care.
