CLEVELAND (AP) — Chicago White Sox infielder Colson Montgomery was taken out during the fifth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians because of a bruised left wrist.
Montgomery, whose 31 home runs are tied for sixth in the American League, was hit on the left wrist by a 95.1 mph sinker from Cleveland pitcher Parker Missick during the fourth inning.
Montgomery hasn’t had a hit in his last 15 at-bats and is mired in a 1 for 30 slump with 18 strikeouts over his last nine games.
