ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Bills starting defensive tackle Ed Oliver has been ruled out after hurting his hip while warming up before Buffalo’s game against Detroit on Thursday night.
The team made the announcement in releasing its list of inactive players 90 minutes before game time. Oliver is an eight-year starter and coming off a season-opening outing in which he was in on five tackles and recovered a fumble in a 36-31 win at Houston.
The injury leaves Buffalo with four healthy defensive linemen with rookie T.J. Sanders (knee/illness) missing his second straight game.
The Lions, meantime, had already ruled out starting offensive linemen Blake Miller (knee) and Christian Mahogany (hip).
Lions cornerback D.J. Reed is active after being listed as questionable because of a foot injury.
