Two boys abducted in Alberta found safe in B.C., mother and partner charged: RCMP

BEAVERLODGE — RCMP say two young boys who were allegedly abducted in Alberta more than two months ago by their mother and her partner have been found safe in British Columbia.

The boys, ages four and six, were found Thursday at a rural property in West Kelowna, B.C.

Police say the brothers are in good health and are with B.C.’s child protection services waiting to be transferred back to Alberta.

An Amber Alert was issued in early July after Mounties said the boys were taken from Valhalla Centre, an Alberta hamlet roughly 63 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie.

Amber Alerts were also issued in British Columbia and the Northwest Territories but were later cancelled while Mounties continued to investigate.

RCMP say the boys’ mother and her partner have been arrested and charged with contravening a custody order.
