iN VIDEO: Motionball Kelowna raises $136,000 for Special Olympics Canada Foundation

Kelowna came together on Saturday to raise money for Motionball 2026 in City Park. Teams of ten spent a full day of sports, team-building, and fun while raising money for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. At the opening ceremony, teams were paired up with 1-2 local Special Olympics athletes to participate on their team in a variety of different sports and games while rotating through different stations every 20 minutes.

Teams competed against each other in Bocce Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, Bench Ball, Human Foosball, and Scoop Ball, but it wasn’t about winning or losing; it was about having fun and sharing great moments with the athletes. This year’s event brought together 280 participants across 28 teams, raising $136,000 in support of Special Olympics athletes nationwide.

Motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through integrated social and sporting events.
