Classic rock and symphonic energy will collide across the Okanagan this weekend as the Gary Cable Project returns with Orchestral Rock Odyssey, a large-scale concert bringing together a nine-piece rock band, orchestra, and singers featuring 11 new arrangements by Styx, Aretha Franklin, Prince, the Doobie Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, Foreigner, Barry White, and more.

Friday, September 25, starts the weekend off with one show in Vernon at the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre at 7:30 pm, followed by two shows in Kelowna on Saturday, September 26 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, September 27 at 2:30 pm, at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Since the COVID shutdowns, concerts featuring the Gary Cable Project have raised more than $100,000 for BC charities, supporting organizations including the Community Foundation North Okanagan, Central Okanagan Foundation, Community Foundation South Okanagan/Similkameen, BC Interior Jazz Festival Society, and BC Cancer.

And the generosity doesn’t stop there. In April 2023, a special fundraiser for Ukrainian war refugees brought in nearly $10,000. For this concert series, the band is once again teaming up with two fantastic local charity partners, the Community Foundation North Okanagan in Vernon and the Central Okanagan Foundation in Kelowna.

The Gary Cable Project is a 9-piece Pop/Rock band with a full horn section, comprised of live session musicians who have performed and recorded with the likes of Aerosmith, Barbra Streisand, Joe Cocker, Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, The Pointer Sisters, David Foster, Natalie Cole, Chris de Burgh, Stuart Copeland, Chilliwack, Powder Blues, Nickelback, Ian Tyson, Sarah McLachlan, and Ray Charles.
