iN NUMBERS: ‘Buy Canadian’ still going strong in B.C. 

Most British Columbians are still seeking out Canadian products as confusing, flip flopping policies from the U.S. continue to cause chaos.

For some people, keeping their cash in Canada isn’t something they’re interested in.

Here are the numbers from a recent Research Co. survey:

  • 56: Per cent of British Columbians polled said they’re avoiding American products. 
  • 32: Per cent of British Columbians surveyed are avoiding American restaurants franchises in Canada.
  • 27: Per cent of British Columbians polled said they aren’t changing their spending habits to avoid anything American. 
  • 63: Per cent of British Columbians surveyed said Canada definitely shouldn’t look into becoming the 51st state. 
  • 48: Per cent of British Columbians polled want Canada to look into becoming a member of the European Union. 
  • 82: Per cent of British Columbians surveyed still see American tariffs as a threat. 
  • 43: Per cent of British Columbians polled feel like the U.S. military is a threat to Canada. 
  • 46: Per cent of Conservative voters surveyed said they’re avoiding American goods. 
  • 76: Per cent of NDP voters polled said they’re avoiding American goods.
  • 51: Per cent of a product needs to be made in Canada for it to be Made in Canada.
  • 98: Per cent of a product needs to be made in Canada for it to be A Product of Canada.
