DOUBLE ELECTION 2026: More dates and candidates in the Okanagan and Kamloops

We’re in the thick of the double election with countless candidates and dizzying dates for events and voting around the Okanagan and Kamloops.

Here’s a voter toolbox for who’s who, what’s going on and when you can cast your ballot.

Municipal election day is Saturday, Oct. 17 and the provincial election is Saturday, Oct. 24.

Advance voting dates for local elections are different in each city, but Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon all have advance voting on Oct. 7 and 14, but some cities have extra advance voting dates.

Local candidate endorsements have come out from groups like the North Okanagan Labour Council, Kamloops Labour Council, Vote4Tomorrow and ForChange Kelowna.

For the provincial election, the candidate nomination period ended, Oct. 3, so all five parties aren’t going to be able to enter anyone else into the running.

The BC NDP has 92 candidates, the BC Conservative have a full list of 93, OneBC has 33, CentreBC has 40 and the BC Green Party has 73 candidates.
