iN VIDEO: International Curling Stars compete at Penticton Curling Classic

Top-ranked teams from around the world are in Penticton this weekend, competing for $100,000. The Penticton Curling Club is hosting its annual Nufloors Penticton Curling Classic. Top teams from Sweden, Switzerland, South Korea, Japan, and Canada are competing over 4 days, October 8 to 11. The competition wraps up over the weekend with semifinals and Finals taking place on Sunday, with some local Okanagan teams also competing at the event.

Yannick Schwaller is an Olympic bronze medalist who currently sits at the top of the World Curling rankings and is competing at the event from Recherswil, Switzerland.

Also in attendance are:

  • Brendan Bottcher – Edmonton, Canada
  • Oscar Eriksson – Karlstad, Sweden
  • Kevin Koe – Calgary, Canada
  • Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi – Karuizawa, Japan

Local Okanagan skips Jim Cotter and Matt Tolley are also competing at the event.

Tickets are still available for attending the games on Saturday and Sunday at the Penticton Curling Club for $10 per game. Semi-Finals and Finals happen on Sunday, October 11, at 8:30 am and 12:30 pm.
