Ja Morant could miss a month after straining left hamstring in Blazers’ loss to Grizzlies

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Ja Morant could miss at least a month after the Portland guard injured his left hamstring in a game against his former team.

Morant was hurt Thursday in a 124-103 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Trail Blazers said Friday that he sustained a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and would be evaluated again in four weeks.

Morant scored 14 points in 23 minutes in the Blazers’ first loss of the season. He is averaging 15.8 points thus far.

The 2020 Rookie of the Year was a two-time All-Star in Memphis before getting dealt to Portland in the offseason.
