Two fires sparked near Lake Country are still classified as out of control, but they’re not showing a lot of growth, BC Wildfire Service says.
The Clark Creek fire, which was discovered yesterday, July 6, about two kilometres southwest of Oyama Lake, is out of control and mapped at 0.5 hectares.
Shaelee Stearns, a fire information officer with the wildfire service, said there are three personnel on the ground and two helicopters working the blaze on it at the moment.
Stearns said there doesn’t appear to have been much growth.
The other fire, which was discovered July 5 west of Oyama Lake, is classified as out of control and sitting at 0.1 hectares. A contract crew is responding to that fire, which is also is not showing signs of a lot of growth.
