Mountain passes getting a blast of winter

KAMLOOPS – Winter isn’t done with us quite yet.

Alberta bound drivers take note, Environment Canada has issued one of it's notorious Special Weather Statements, this time for the Trans Canada highway through the Rogers and Eagle passes.

Snow, heavy at times, is expected Saturday.

According to the forecasters at Environment Canada, up to 20 cm of snow will fall by early Sunday morning.

An intense Pacific frontal system approaching the province will bring snow to most of the Southern Interior mountain passes Saturday and into Sunday. The Rogers and Eagle passes will get the most snow.

In the valley bottoms, the system will mean rain showers.

Drivers are advised to check the current highway conditions at Drive B.C. and the latest weather forecast at Environment Canada.
