11 more COVID-19 deaths in B.C.; 6 in Interior Health
Not only does the COVID-19 case count continue to mount in B.C. but so does the death toll, hitting 11 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Six of those of those were people living in the Interior Health region, according to a news release from the Ministry of Health issued today, Oct. 1.
There were 714 new cases in B.C. in the last 24 hours including 274 in Fraser Health, 205 in Interior Health, 106 in Northern Health, 73 in Vancouver Coastal and 56 on Vancouver Island.

There are 6,317 active cases in B.C. with 1,360 of them being in Interior Health. There are 328 people in B.C. hospitals, including 138 in intensive care.
The vaccination rate for those 12 and over with one dose is unchanged from yesterday at 88% but there are now 81.1% with two doses.
For the week of Sept. 23 to 29, 71.3% of the new cases in B.C. were in people who were not vaccinated. In the two weeks from Sept. 15 to 29, 80.8% of those hospitalized were unvaccinated.
