Vernon Jubilee Hospital doctors buying COVID-stressed staff breakfast to say thanks

Appreciation for Vernon Jubilee Hospital staff will come wrapped up in a breakfast burrito on Friday.

Hospital employees heading into work the morning of Friday, Oct. 15, will be treated to a breakfast burrito, with a heaping side of gratitude, according to a press release from the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Physician Society.

The burritos are a thank-you to hospital employees who have undergone tremendous pressure over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Whether they are the guiding light for our sickest patients or those that keep Vernon Jubilee Hospital running smoothly, as physicians, we are grateful to be part of this engaged and dedicated team. A delicious breakfast burrito is a small gesture to show our appreciation," society president Dr. Kira McClellan said in the release.

"The stress of keeping yourself and others safe during a pandemic takes its toll on everyone. When everyone shows up for work, is kind and supportive of one another and does their best despite the challenging circumstances, everyone's job is a little easier and patients receive better care."

The Street Eats food truck will be making the breakfast burritos with free-range eggs and produce from local farmers.
