Cyclist struck on Highway 5A in Kamloops

A cyclist travelling on Highway 5A in Kamloops was struck by a vehicle last night and rushed to hospital.

RCMP responded to the area south of Rogers Way around 8:25 p.m., Nov. 9, where the a man was hit while heading north on a bicycle.

The cyclist in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic was rerouted as officers investigated the scene.

Investigators are now seeking witnesses to the collision as they continue to investigate what happened, according to an RCMP news release.

The driver was cooperative with the investigation, RCMP said.
