VERNON – Birds tweeted joyously on the first day of spring, and so did you.
Twitter was abuzz with celebratory tweets and photos Thursday, Mar. 20, the day that marked the end of what was a treacherous winter in some corners of Canada.
A blizzard shut down parts of Atlantic Canada in January, closing schools, sending workers home and disrupting travel throughout the region.
An ice storm wreaked havoc over the Christmas holidays in Toronto, stranding people at the airport and cutting power to hundreds of thousands of people.
Closer to home, bad weather caused delays at the Kelowna airport over the winter.
Needless to say, we were all ready for the first day of spring and couldn’t help but share the excitement on Twitter.
