West Kelowna resident taken to hospital after house fire

A house fire in West Kelowna last night landed an occupant in hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.

West Kelowna firefighters were called to a fire at a two-storey single-family house on Applegreen Court at around 8:37 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 28, according to a news release from the fire department.

The fire was in a room on the second floor.

“Crews actioned the fire quickly in difficult weather conditions, keeping the fire to the room of origin,” the news release states.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious.
