VERNON – Officers followed their nose when they pulled over a speeding car and discovered the driver had something to hide.
On March 26, at 2:40 p.m. North Okanagan RCMP stopped a speeding car on Highway 97 near Crystal Waters Road. Mounties spoke to the driver and a quick check determined the plates were from an unassociated van. As well, an officer noticed the man smelled strongly of marijuana. A small quantify of weed was seized.
The man was on a conditional release and detained for breach of his parole because of the marijuana found. He was also charged with excessive speed, no insurance and misuse of plates.
