Dangerous Kamloops teen caught in Penticton

KAMLOOPS – It was a brief hunt for a Kamloops teenager wanted on a Canada wide warrant for uttering threats and breach of probation.

A 17-year-old, considered by the RCMP to be a danger to others, was caught Thursday afternoon in Penticton, minutes after the police issued a release to the media asking for the public’s help to find the suspect.

The RCMP won’t say why they consider the teen dangerous or who the threats were directed towards.

It was serious enough the police applied to a judge to get permission to release the boy’s name and picture to the media.

His identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
