Kelowna RCMP respond after military mortar found at Kelowna business

The Kelowna RCMP were on site of a Kelowna business yesterday morning after old military ammunition was found on site.

"At 9:10 a.m. yesterday, the Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of an old military mortar round located at a business in the 200-block area of Rutland Road," said RCMP media liaison Tammy Lobb, via email.

Police officers attended to the scene and secured the area.

The Department of National Defence's explosive disposal unit was also on scene and determined the round was not live.

"They aided in the disposal of it," Lobb said.
