Salmon Arm RCMP seek witnesses after 3 women sexually assaulted

Salmon Arm RCMP are asking the public for help after three women were sexually assaulted in public yesterday afternoon.

According to a Salmon Arm RCMP press release, the sexual assault happened at around 5 p.m. May 12, when the young women were near the corner of 30 Street NE and 9 Avenue NE in Salmon Arm.

The male suspect groped all three women and then ran towards the Trans-Canada Highway.

The victims called the police but RCMP patrols were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 6’ tall with a medium build, not clean-shaven, with a raspy voice. He was wearing a surgical mask, a dark hoodie, baggy sweat pants, and blue and green sunglasses.

"The Salmon Arm RCMP continue to investigate this offence and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect," Salmon Arm RCMP Sgt. Scott West said in the release.

RCMP are asking anyone who was in the area and saw someone matching the suspect's description or anyone that may have dash camera or surveillance video footage to contact them at 250-832-6044.
